Wæs Þu Hǣl and Wilcume!

Welcome to my new blog. My name is Lēoht Steren and I am an Anglo-Saxon Heathen. Frumcræft is the home of my writings, musings and observations about life as a modern Heathen.

I feel I should explain a little about what, precisely "Frumcræft" is. Frumcræft is the hearthcult (home practice) of myself and my family - my cynndred in the very real sense of the word. The word "Frumcræft" comes from the Ænglisc words "frum" and "cræft". "Frum" means " original, primitive, first" and carries sense of hearkening to a past time, when things were more primal than they are now.

Cræft means "craft, skill, work, knowledge, cunning" and suggests that there is more to being a Heathen than simply believing in a collection of gods, monsters, and other wihta.

Frumcræft, then is an original approach to Anglo-Saxon Heathendom that is based on the reconstructionist approach to the study of the past in a way that informs modern practice and inspires new ideas and ways of living. Drinc þu hǣl!
